Family Dentistry

We believe that the best dentistry is the kind that produces such amazing results that you can’t even tell dental work was done in the first place.

Our team will produce high quality, custom crowns, that appear and feel natural. Crowns are a long term solution for cracked, badly damaged or broken teeth. They are reliable, and one of the best ways to make your smile look as good as new. A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original size and shape.

A crown strengthens and protects the tooth structure. Crowns are perfect for teeth that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.

There are several different types of crowns, porcelain crowns are popular, because they resemble natural teeth. Although they can last for many years they may eventually need to be replaced. These types of crowns are made to match the size, color, and shape or your teeth giving you a beautiful, natural and long lasting smile.

What does getting a crown involve?

A crown procedure typically requires two appointments.  The first appointment will include taking several highly accurate molds (or impressions). The molds will be used to create a custom crown.  A temporary crown will also be created from the mold. The temporary crown will stay on your tooth for approximately two weeks. Once your new crown is fabricated by a dental laboratory the temporary crown will be replaced with a permanent crown.

Our team will numb the tooth and prepare the tooth by removing any tooth decay and shaping the surface to fit the crown properly. When these details are completed, your temporary crown will be placed with temporary cement and your bite will be checked to ensure you are biting properly.

When you come in for the second appointment, your temporary crown will be taken off, the tooth will be cleaned thoroughly, and your new crown will be  placed carefully to ensure the bite and spacing are accurate.

You will be given care instructions from our team and you’ll be encouraged to have regular dental visits to check your new crown.
